Jobs, professional experience After graduating from the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University (2005), simultaneously with his postgraduate studies, he engaged in human rights protection activities, including in the professional association “Legal Center” as a lawyer’s assistant, completed an internship at the Polish Mediation Center (M. Warsaw). Since 2008, he has received the right to practice law. From 2007-2008, he was an assistant at the Department of Theory and History of the State and Law of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University. Since September 2008, he has been a senior lecturer at the Department of Criminal Law. From October 2008 until now, he has been entrusted with the duties of deputy director of the Law Institute of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University. Since December 2010, he has been an associate professor of the Department of Criminal Law of the Law Institute of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University. From September 2022 – in the position of professor of the Department of Policy in the Fight against Crime and criminal law of the Educational Scientific Law Institute of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University. From December 2022, he will be the director of the educational and scientific legal institute of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University. Research activities The topic of the candidate’s thesis is “Restorative Justice in the criminal process: international experience and Prospects for Development in Ukraine.” The dissertation was defended in 2010 at the specialized academic council of the National Academy of the Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine under the supervision of Doctor of Laws, Professor P. L. Fries. The author of more than 90 scientific and scientific-methodical publications, including the co-author of the first textbook in Ukraine, “Mediation in the professional activity of a Lawyer,” the monograph “Contract as a universal form of legal regulation.” In 2019, two publications were published in journals indexed in the Scopus database. Provides training for post-graduate students, under the supervision of 3 dissertations for obtaining the scientific degree of candidate of legal sciences: Krasiy M.O. on the topic “Policy in the field of combating crime: the relationship between the criminal-legal and criminal-procedural subsystems” (2018), V.I. Potyak on the case “Criminal-legal enforcement of the implementation of the reconciliation agreement” (2019), Cheredarchuk A.M. “Criminal-legal protection of public procurement” (2021). Currently, Vovk U.O. is in charge of the training of graduate students. Organizational activities Since October 2008, he has been the deputy director of the Vasyl Stefanyk Law Institute of the Carpathian National University. In April 2009, he completed an internship in higher education institutions, legal system bodies, and the administration of the cantons of Geneva and Zurich of the Swiss Confederation. During October-November 2009 – internship in the USA under the “Open the World” program. 2014-2017 – deputy responsible secretary, responsible secretary of the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University admissions committee. In 2018, he was included in the Interagency Coordination Council on Juvenile Justice of Ukraine of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine. During 2005-2019 – won more than ten international grant competitions for human rights, restorative justice, mediation of the European Commission, the US Institute of International Relations, the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, the Agency for International Development (USAID), the Swedish Society for Peace and Arbitration (SPAS), the Ukrainian Center for Understanding, the Institute for Peace and Understanding and other organizations. During 2010-2018, he was a trainer and teacher in training judges, prosecutors, lawyers, police officers, and local self-government bodies in Kyiv and Ivano-Frankivsk. He is the secretary of the collection of scientific articles “Actual problems of improving the current legislation of Ukraine,” which belong to professional legal publications.
